Land Auction Proof of Strong Land Values
On Thursday, March 5th, Clift Land Auctions held a successful land auction in Raton, NM. Offered for sale was 3,920 acres of NE New Mexico ranchland. “We offered this land in two individual tracts and ended with two buyers,” commented George Clift, owner of Clift Land Auctions and Clift Land Brokers in Amarillo, Texas. The final results totaled to just over $2M, representing a new high for land values in that area.
To kick off the bidding, the auctioneer solicited a donation to the all volunteer Des Moines EMS in Des Moines, NM. The highest bidder, Jordan Ward, Vice President of the Farmers & Stockmen’s Bank of Clayton, NM donated $500.00, on behalf of the bank, to help support this organization. Clift Land Auctions will match their donation with another $500.00.
“This land auction offers proof that land values in our area remain strong and that a land auction is a sound business decision for ranchers”, added Mr. Clift.
On Tuesday, January 13th, Clift Land Auctions held a successful auction in Dumas, Texas. Up for sale was the Front Range Dairy and 980 + acres of highly productive irrigated farmland. This property was offered in three individual tracts, which made this property attractive for a variety of potential buyers. “We had interest in this auction from New York State to California. Interest came from local farmers, feedyard owners, east coast investors, and dairymen from all over the United States”, said George Clift, owner of Clift Land Auctions and Clift Land Brokers in Amarillo, Texas. As it turned out, this property sold to one buyer for $4.73 M, exceeding the sellers’ expectations.
Clift Land Auctions donated $500.00 to the High Plains Food Bank, matching a donation in the same amount made by Gary and Karin Sutherland at our auction held on October 16th.
